Steps for Use

Steps for use

BioPince™ is designed for for ease of use. There is no new technique required.

1

After appropriately preparing the biopsy site, the target area is located. Using standard technique, a BioPince™ Co-axial Introducer Needle is advanced to a position proximal to the lesion. The adjustable needle stop is positioned proximal to the skin.

2

Remove the stylet from the Co-axial Introducer Needle, and the cannula is left in position.

3

Activate the BLUE safety button on the side of the instrument. It will indicate the "SAFE" position.

4

To cock the instrument, lift the cocking lever until a click is heard. Push the lever down until a second click is heard. A YELLOW indicator in the "READY" window indicates that it is cocked.

5

The instrument is shipped in the 33mm position. If an adjustment to stroke length is desired, the instrument must first be cocked. To select the desired stroke length, lift the "ears" on both sides of the stroke length adjuster and move the adjuster to the appropriate position.

6

The BioPince™ stylet is advanced to a position proximal to the lesion and the safety is released. The instrument is ready to "FIRE".

7

Firmly press the RED firing trigger located at the proximal end of the instrument.

8

The device is removed from the patient. Lifting the cocking lever and pushing it down, automatically expels the specimen. The instrument is now cocked for another specimen retrieval.
